Vice President of Business Development
Ms. Kelly Birmingham joined as the Company’s VP of Business Development in April 2016. Ms. Birmingham has an extensive track record for driving business, sales, and strategic partnership development, for startups with innovative products for consumer mobile devices and beyond. She has enabled record growth and multiple start-up acquisitions by Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, at Powermat from 2012-2016, as VP of Sales, Ms. Birmingham secured leading carrier, mobile device OEM, and venue partnerships enabling wireless charging device proliferation and enablement in venues. At DSP Communications, as Director of Sales and Business Development (and 3rd US employee) from 1994-1999, Ms. Birmingham drove the mobile baseband chip provider’s North American revenue from $3M to over $45M (contributing to company growth of $16M to $350M), enabling IPO & acquisition by Intel for $1.6B (Intel’s largest up until then). Afterwards, from 1999-2003, she led strategic investments for RF wireless technology for Intel Capital. From 2003 to 2005, as Director of Business Development at TransChip, Ms. Birmingham forged partnerships, enabling revenue tripling to $20M (over 2 years) and Samsung’s acquisition. Ms. Birmingham then achieved record revenue and growth from $10M to $20M (over one year) for Quake Technologies, enabling acquisition by AMCC (serving from 2005-2007). At various other roles, she enabled early stage initiatives and growth, within both start-up and larger company organizations. Ms. Birmingham received her BSEE and MSEE from Santa Clara University.
